Papermaking chemicals refer to the general term for various chemical agents and auxiliaries used in the papermaking process. Their purpose is to improve paper quality and production efficiency, improve operating conditions, reduce manufacturing costs, increase economic benefits, and develop new paper types. They are essential key technological products for the papermaking industry.
Papermaking chemicals are diverse and can be divided into two main categories based on their purpose and function: functional chemicals and process chemicals.
1. Retention and filtration aids: cationic starch, polyacrylamide, polyethyleneimine, anionic starch, and multi-component retention aid systems.
2. Defoamers: organosilicones, polyethers, or fatty alcohols.
3. Preservatives: triazine, isothiazolinones, organic bromine compounds, etc.
4. Flocculants: polyaluminum chloride, sodium polyacrylate, polyacrylamide, and their modified products.
5. Sediment control agents: cationic polyamides, etc.
6. Fiber dispersants: polyethylene oxide, high molecular weight anionic polyacrylamide, etc.
